I SEE LONDON COVERRelease Date: February 3, 2014

Publisher: Harlequin HQN

This is a New Adult romance recommended for readers 17 and up.

Maggie Carpenter is ready for a change— and to leave her ordinary life in South Carolina behind. But when she accepts a scholarship to the International School in London, a university attended by the privileged offspring of diplomats and world leaders, Maggie might get more than she bargained for.

When Maggie meets Hugh, a twentysomething British guy, she finds herself living the life she always wanted. Suddenly she’s riding around the city in a Ferrari, wearing borrowed designer clothes and going to the hottest clubs. The only problem? Another guy, the one she can’t seem to keep her hands off of.

Half French, half Lebanese, and ridiculously wealthy, Samir Khouri has made it clear he doesn’t do relationships. He’s the opposite of everything Maggie thought she wanted…and he’s everything she can’t resist. Torn between her dream guy and the boy haunting her dreams, Maggie has to fight for her own happy ending. In a city like London, you never know where you stand, and everything can change in the blink of an eye.

Meet Mya from I SEE LONDON

Today I’m so excited to introduce you to Mya. Mya plays a really special role in I SEE LONDON.

Maggie’s first day in London is incredibly overwhelming. It’s not just the start of her freshman year in college—it’s also her first day overseas in a brand new city where she doesn’t know anyone. She’s walked into a whole new world and when she meets Mya in the cafeteria, everything changes.

Mya is a sophomore at the International School. Originally from Nigeria, Mya has spent a lot of time in London as her dad works at the Nigerian Embassy. She has lived all over the world and loves to travel. She’s a regular on the London social scene and welcomes Maggie with open arms. She introduces Maggie to her friends and invites her on a magical night out on the town. She’s pretty much Maggie’s unofficial fairy godmother.

Mya is one of my favorite characters because she’s a loyal and amazing friend. She’s always there for Maggie and from the beginning she really helps her acclimate to life in a new city. Mya is also really easygoing and low drama—a rare quality at a school like the International School! She’s often the voice of reason and calm when crises erupt.

One of my favorite things about I SEE LONDON has been writing the various friendships throughout the book. The “triumvirate” as I like to think of them—Mya, Maggie, and Fleur—have such a fun friendship that includes nights out dancing, trips around Europe, sharing outfits, and shoulders to cry on.

Maggie and Mya have an easy friendship that develops almost instantly. Mya and Fleur have a different relationship. Fleur—Maggie’s roommate—is kind of a tough egg. In a lot of ways Fleur is Mya’s opposite—she’s high strung and difficult—but I love that Mya sees the best in her. They have a shared history from their boarding school days in Switzerland and Mya helps Maggie see a different side of Fleur.

Mya’s positivity really shines through the book and she always works to see the best in people. She really is a special character—her loyalty and generosity make her an amazing friend. We all need a friend like Mya! I can’t wait to share her with all of you.

What about you? What kind of qualities do you look for in friendships?

For a school as expensive as the International School, the dining hall was a bit of a disappointment. Like the dorm rooms, it was small. One wall boasted a bunch of silver tubs full of food, heated under fluorescent lights. A stack of plastic trays sat in front of the line of food.
“Go with the curry. Trust me, it’s the only thing remotely edible.”
I turned to the girl next to me—a tall black girl with long black hair. Gorgeous blue beaded earrings hung from her ears, a matching silver-and-blue scarf wrapped around her neck.
“Thanks for the advice.”
“No problem. I’m Mya. Are you new?”
“I’m Maggie. I’m a freshman.”
“Welcome. American?”
I grimaced. It had to be the accent giving me away. “Yeah.” Or my outfit. I stared down at my jeans and flip-flops, wishing I’d put something more glamorous on.
“Don’t worry. There are lots of Americans here.” She gave me a friendly smile, one of the first genuine ones I’d received since I arrived. “This is probably a bit of a culture shock.”
“It’s different,” I hedged. “Where are you from?”
“That’s pretty cool.”
She shrugged. “It’s nice. London’s better, though. We spend most of the year here. My dad works at the Nigerian embassy.” She gestured toward one of the empty tables. “Do you want to sit together?”
I had been courting visions of having to sit by myself at lunch, with only a book for company. “That would be great, thanks.” I SEE LONDON February 3, 2014

ChanelCleetonOriginally a Florida girl, at seventeen Chanel moved to London to attend an international university.  In the four years that followed, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, learned how to dance, travelled through Europe, and made lifelong friendships.  Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever.  But fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise, when an American fighter pilot with smooth dance moves, swept her off her feet.

Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure in South Korea.  An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she is happiest curled up with a book.  She has a weakness for handbags, puppy cuddles, and her fighter pilot husband.  Harlequin (HQN) will release Chanel’s New Adult debut, I SEE LONDON, on February 3, 2014, followed by a sequel, LONDON FALLING, later in the year.
