2012 Debut Author Challenge

After much debating and plying with cat nip, okay so it really didn’t take much of either but the cat nip was appreciated, Sara has decided that she would like to participate in next years 2012 Debut Author Challenge hosted by Kristi The Story Siren. Currently there are close to 250 people participating! That’s a lot of readers; all of whom will be sharing their unique views on the books they will be reading.

So what is the this Debut Author Challenge all about? Well here’s the run down:

CHALLENGE OBJECTIVE:

  • To read & review a minimum of twelve young adult or middle grade debut novels between the dates of January 1, 2012 – January 31, 2013.
  • The 2013 extension is so that December Debuts can be read and count toward the challenge.

RULES & GUIDELINES:

  • You must have a Blog to post your reviews or be a member of Goodreads.
  • Your blog must be written in English.
  • Deadline to join is May 31, 2012.

BOOK GUIDELINES:

  • Must be a young adult or middle grade title.
  • Must be the author’s YA or MG debut, released in 2012.
  • If an author has a previous novel published for adults or children, they can still qualify for the challenge.
  • If an author has a previous YA or MG title, they do not qualify for the challenge.

There are a lot of great new books coming out next year, and having to choose between titles was a challenge all on its own. However, Sara and I were able to come up with some fun choices, and while we decided to select 12 only at the time, you can bet that Sara will be adding to the list as titles are discovered during the course of next year, so be sure to check back as the months go on to see if anything new has been added. Please click on the Goodreads links provided if you want to read/investigate a title further. =^-^=
